Fix
Outlook Express Errors
Title
– Fixing
errors in Outlook Express
Description
– Outlook Express is a popular email client used by many people
around the world. Published by Microsoft it not enables the
sending and receiving of emails but also the storage and
management of contacts within a structured address book, a
similar level of management over appointments and schedules,
and even notes. However, like any application, it isn't without
its potential problems.
Problems can range from the simple but still problematic “server
could not be found” error message to the more complex corrupt
email message. Similarly, the methods of fixing these problems
are equally broad and include the simple switching off and back
on again of your system to the uninstalling and reinstalling of
the Outlook Express program.
Associated Errors
– Outlook Express often seems to have an inexhaustible supply of
error messages to use. These error messages may not always seem
to outline the problem you are suffering let alone the method to
recover from that problem but they can help when you are
searching online for an answer.
When a server becomes
unresponsive you will receive an error message and will be
unable to send or receive emails. If an email becomes corrupt
then you will be unlikely to be able to open that email until
you can recover it. If an entire folder becomes corrupt then you
will face a similar problem but with a larger number of emails.
Recommended Solution
– The first step users should always take is to switch off their
PC and switch it back on again. This may sound like an over
simplified solution but in a lot of cases it gives your system
the opportunity to reset and attempt to reload all the required
files and settings properly.
Try deleting Internet files
including cookies, history, and temp files. This will need to be
done through your Internet Explorer rather than through your
Outlook Express application but the procedure is a simple one.
Open your browser, click on the Tools tab at the top of the
screen. In Internet Explorer you should click Internet Options
and then click Delete Files, ensure that Delete All Offline
Files is ticked and click OK.
Reinstalling Outlook Express
can also help. Done properly using the installation disk or
installer you should not lose any of your emails, contacts, or
other information that is stored within the application. Care
should always be taken to ensure that you uninstall and
reinstall applications correctly.
